Bot in English means an automated computer program. In computer language, Bot is called an automated computer program, which performs most of the repetitive tasks. There can be different types of Bot, like Chatbot, Internet Bot, Social Bot, Video Games Bot and other programs as well. They are also known as Internet droids.
In today's evolving Internet technology, bots are found each &everywhere. Some of these bots are very much useful and good, such as search engine bots and many more.
Types of Bots?
1. Good Bots - Chat bots, crawlers, Transactional Bots etc.
2. Bad Bots - Hackers, Spammers, scrappers, Impersonators etc.
Apart from these, there are some bad bots, which are programmed to gain control over the computer's, break user accounts, scan to find users contacts, send spams, and many other malicious activities.
Over time, the functionality of these computer software programs is also increasing gradually. Web crawler bots scan content or webpages on the Internet, including search engine bots. Social bots also work on any social media platform. In addition, Chat-Bot is made to interact or interact with humans.
How bots work?
Bot is used in a wide variety of tasks. A bot is a type of software application
that is specifically, programmed or coded to perform a particular task. Bots are automated, which means that they run as per the instructions given
earlier and do not require any human support to start them. Bots can often
mimic user activities or work in their place.
Internet Bot usually runs on the Internet network. Web Crawlers are used by search engines to regularly scan and crawl webpages. More than half of the traffic on the Internet is generated only by bots being scanned.
Many bot usually perform repetitive tasks and can do that task faster than a user. It works automatically (script), such as setting an alarm, weather information, online searching, etc. You can see bot in many messaging apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram etc. Bots help you to perform any task in many apps. They are able to remind the user of a task, make a schedule or fulfill an online order. Today, bots help us to order food online, do shopping, find a restaurant or shop, etc. Many bots are programmed to act like humans. If you talk to the bot, then it seems as if you are asking for help from someone.
Today, many computer, software or app developers and companies believe that
people prefer to use a bot feature rather than running an app or software
themselves. Bot can help you in many tasks.
But, this does not mean that the use of other things or technology is
decreasing. In the future we will see many smart bots which will help to
automate many of our tasks.
