What is encryption, how does encryption work, what are theadvantages of encryption and what are the disadvantages of encryption, read this article till the end for all the information.

Encryption is a process in which you can secure your data in much better way. Encryption is not a new thing, it has been being used since the time of King Maharaja, at that time he did not have a mobile phone or WhatsApp messenger from which he used to transmit his messages from one place to another.

At that time the secret message was delivered by messenger, but there was still a fear that no one might read this message on the way. That's why encryption was used even at that time, then they had their own way of encrypting the message, Now-a-day's technology has increased a lot, and now, we use new techniques as digital encryption.

How does encryption work?

In encryption, the data is completely changed. In encryption, the software converts the data into machine language and it does all this under a key, who has that key, only he can access this data.
For example, I want to send a message to my friend and I want that no one else can read that message and if read then don't understand. Now suppose my message is "Encryption meaning in Spanish" Now I encrypt this message by software, after encrypting the message became this "51432516209151413511491497914 891449".

Now even if someone else gets this message, he will not be able to read it. There is a key to read it and that key is Alphabet = Number like A = 1 , B = 2 , C = 3 In this way when you decrypt it, the message becomes "Encryption meaning in Spanish". This is how encryption works. It does not mean that the key of all encrypted files is the same or that the encryption is just like this, I have given an example here just to explain to you, in fact the algorithm of encryption is very difficult, which sometimes even hackers do not understand.

Types of Encryption

 1. Symmetric Encryption

Symmetric Encryption, This is the first type of encryption in which after encrypting the data, the person sending the data has to share the encryption key with the person receiving the data because in Symmetric Encryption the same key is used to encrypt and decrypt the data. So symmetric encryption is also called Shared Encryption.

 2. Asymmetric Encryption

Asymmetric Encryption, This is another type of encryption in which two different keys are used to encrypt and decrypt data, meaning in asymmetric encryption there is a separate key for data encryption and a different key for data decryption. Asymmetric encryption is mostly used to share data in public networks and that is why this type of encryption is also called Public Key Encryption.

 End-to-End Encryption Advantages

Protects data from being hacked

E2EE means that only selected parties can access your data. The data stored by you on the server, the company providing the service or hackers cannot decrypt even if they want, because they do not have decryption keys.

Keeps your data private

If you send a message through G-mail, Google can read every intimate detail in the mail you send. But this is not the case in E2EE, with the help of this you can control your message and you can show the message to anyone only according to your wish in the interest of democracy.

Everyone has the right to privacy

E2EE gives people the freedom to express their views openly in front of anyone and protects them from threats from harassers and hackers too.

Famous Messaging companies using End-to-end Encryption services are WhatsApp, Telegram, Apple, Signal, Facebook, Dust etc.

 End-to-End Encryption Disadvantages

It's biggest disadvantage is that if someone commits a crime and talks about his/her secret on WhatsApp, then Government or any other Can't even see their secret messages.

So, there will be typically some criminal benefit from this, crime will also increase, this is a big loss because it will be misused.

I hope after reading this blog, you have come to know each and everything about Encryption.
