If you are connected to the digital world then you must have used applications like Facebook, Google, Instagram, Twitter and Internet banking. Do you know What is Two-Factor Authentication ? If you don't know what is 2 step authentication ? And how do you use it ? So maybe either you don't love your social media account or not aware of that. Because at this time account security is one of the biggest problems for Internet users and due to lack of strong security, news of data leaks is heard each and every day.

It is important because, by enabling this your personal data, financial or banking information on the internet may be saved from being leaked once, twice, but if you don't have strong security then you cannot always save your account and once your information is leaked that means all the balance in your bank account may disappear. Your Facebook account, G-mail account can be misused and you will be responsible for all this.

Every year the information of crores of people is leaked on Dark web due to some unwanted internet activity and many of them also contain private information, due to which people also suffer financial loss. This year also, there has been a data breach of many such big companies where users have linked their personal information as well as important data like bank account detail, passport detail, Pan card detail etc.

What is Two-Factor Authentication ?

Two-Factor Authentication means two types of security to prime any login account. For the first time you login to your account with regular login which is Single Factor Authentication. But even after Single Authentication, the security of a second password or any other kind of authentication is received, then it is called Two Step Authentication.

This is the method of activation on those accounts which have Online Login, Email and Mobile Device to log in. You can get more information about Two Factor Authentication below.

For example, if you have turned on 2 step verification for G-mail or Facebook, then you cannot login to G-mail or Facebook with the help of password only, it is very much important for you to verify whatever ways you're selected for 2FA.

Features Of 2 Step Authentication:

For security, setup 2 factor authentication for any account and secure the account using these verification features.

1.Get codes via text message-

You can add your personal phone number to 2FA and from this whenever you log in to the account, a verification code will come to our phone through text message. After putting code, you will get access of your account.

2.Want a phone call instead?

By adding this feature, the code will be received through call which can be logged in after verifying.

3.Backup phone numbers-

If for some reason you do not have a phone number network, then you can take the code in any other number.

4.No connection, no problem-

Google Authenticator & many other Authenticator apps which works for Android and iPhone even without any connection.

5.Keep your account even more secure-

To make 2 step authentication 100% secure, you can use Security Key, when it is installed in the system, only then the account can be logged in.

6.Backup codes-

After verifying the authentication once, you can print it or save it somewhere and use it.

7.Register your computers-

If you have a personal computer, then you can setup for it that you do not need 2 step authentication only for that computer.

Advantages and Disadvantages of 2 Step Verification:

Advantages of 2 Step Verification:
1.Doubles the security of your account
2.Protects against unauthorized access
3.Makes Online Transaction Safe & Secure

2 Step Verification Disadvantages:
The biggest and main disadvantage is that if your mobile number is lost or if you don't have your mobile number, then you may have trouble logging in because the OTP that comes in 2 step verification is your mobile number. So, if you don't have your mobile number then how will you be able to access.
